Chapter 8
هذه المحتويات النظرية فقط
ولكن هذا الفصل يحتوي على الكثير من المسائل
يجب الرجوع اليها
• Everything in the universe is in a constant state of motion
• Time is an important parameter in describing motion.
• Something that moves with a constant velocity has a zero acceleration.
Acceleration provides a measure of how velocity changes with time.

• The kilogram is the unit of mass in SI.
• British Gravitational system, the unit of mass is slug
• U.S. Customary system , the unit of mass is lbm .
• Engineers use flow-meters to measure volume or mass flow rates of water, oil, gas, chemical fluids, and food product
The mass flow rate is another closely related parameter that plays an important role in many engineering applications.
Or
Mass flow rate tells engineers how much material is being used or moved over a period of time

There are basically two types of frictional forces that are important in engineering design:
1- Dry frictional forces الاحتكاك الجاف
2- Viscous friction الاحتكاك اللزج
Mechanics: is study of behavior of objects when subjected to forces.
Behavior: means obtaining information about the object’s.
Newton’s First Law: If a given object is at rest, and if there are no unbalanced forces acting on it, the object will then remain at rest.
Newton’s second law: The net effect of unbalanced forces is equal to mass times acceleration of the object
